Makeup Mistakes You Should Avoid
Article

Almost every woman uses makeup products, but using these products in a wrong way can really affect your appearance and even cause you some health issues. Here are some makeup mistakes you should avoid.

Makeup on Dry Skin

Avoid applying makeup on dry skin because that can cause more dryness and flakiness. So make sure you wash your face, apply a moisturizer and wait for it to be absorbed, and then apply your makeup.

Dirty Brushes

Wash your makeup brushes and sponges at least once per week with a mild shampoo and warm water. Using dirty brushes and sponges to apply makeup can cause acne breakouts because of the bacteria that may have accumulated on them.

Too Much Bronzer

Bronzer powder should be used conservatively to avoid ruining your look. Apply bronzing powder only on the curved regions of your face.

Wrong Foundation

This may very well be the most apparent mistake if you make it. Check and experiment with different shades of foundation until you find the one best for you.

Too Much Makeup

You should not be applying too much makeup on your face because that will likely cause you to look older. Use foundation and concealer conservatively and only on the spots you need to cover. If you need to use heavily to cover acne for instance, apply makeup in several light layers instead of one heavy layer.

Not Priming

Primer is an important step in applying makeup that many women just ignore. Primer makes it easier for you to apply other products, and it allows makeup to last longer on your face before fading.

Using Mismatching Colors

Women love using different colors when applying makeup for that bold look, but using mismatching colors will give you a clown look that no one wants. Use colors from the same color family to avoid that.

Not Changing Products

Many of us use the same product throughout the year, but the fact is that our skin changes with different seasons. So if something works well during summertime, it may not be suitable for you during winter.

Wrong Blush Shade

You should choose a blush shade that matches your natural blush color. Additionally, use lipstick from the same color family as the blush to give you a more radiant and natural look. And as with any other makeup product, avoid applying too much blush.
