You may be thinking that applying lipstick is the simplest step in your makeup routine, and it probably is, but did you know that there are many tricks you can do to get better results? From getting lipstick to last longer to giving you a fuller and deeper color, here a few lipstick tips and tricks you should already be using:

Apply Powder

Blot your lips after you apply lipstick, and then use translucent loose powder to set in, making it less likely to stain and smudge, and making it last much longer.

Know What to Use

Not all lipstick shades will necessarily work for you or the look you’re trying to get, and what looks great on your friend may not look so good on you. Choose shades that achieve the look you want, remembering that bright and shimmering colors make lips look fuller, while dark and matte shades make lips look thinner.

Teeth Stains

To prevent lipstick staining your teeth, put your finger in your mouth after you’ve done applying lipstick. Close your lips around your finger and then pull out your finger slowly. This will remove any excess lipstick that got on your lips from the inside of your mouth.

Matching Blush

If you want to apply blush with your lipstick, choose colors that closely match. This will give you a more natural and radiant look.

Blending Lipstick

Do you own a few a lipstick tubes that you never use? Instead of throwing those away, try to blend and experiment with them. You may get results that you like and will actually use.

Fading

Lipstick disappears quickly because eating and drinking can cause it to fade. If you want your lipstick to last for the longest possible time, drink using a straw.

Lip Liner

If you use lip liner, apply it when you’re done with the lipstick. This makes it much easier for you to draw the line. Additionally, you should use lip liner to define your actual lips, and not create a new lip line. Also, use a slightly blunt instead of a sharp liner to get the best possible results.
